Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH), the entity dedicated to Airbus private helicopters, presented for the first time the new ACH135 Helionix on the roof of the Monaco Yacht Club during the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. Equipped with the cabin configuration resulting from the ACH line, the twin-engine light helicopter is also equipped with a Helionix avionics suite. The system offers, according to the manufacturer, an aid to have better knowledge of the environment, simpler flight management commands and increased safety. Features include a “pause” button to automate hovering (ideal for saving time when faced with reduced visibility or a crowded environment) as well as a “hold” button. The latter allows the machine to fly automatically and reposition itself in the best configuration approach to landing while ensuring automatic engine management. “With about 300 yachts equipped with helicopters worldwide, the needs for more reliable, compact and versatile helicopters, able to carry passengers and cargo in all environments, are increasing” according to Frédéric Lemos, Director of Airbus Corporate Helicopters.
