Safran Helicopter Engines has signed a contract with the Danish Defense for the Arriel 1D1 engine maintenance of 11 Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) Fennec AS550C2s. The engines will now be covered by Safran’s Global Support Package (GSP) and the contract will last until the mid-2030s, when the fleet will be withdrawn. In July 2016, Safran had signed a seven-year contract to support 14 EH101 Merlin RTM 322s also operated by the Danish Air Force. Since then, 75 engines have been covered by Safran’s GSP program. This new agreement meets RDAF requirements for engine availability for national and international military operations.
